Getting Started
Welcome to Glyph! This guide covers everything you need to start reading.
Adding Extensions
Glyph doesn’t come with built-in novel sources. You add them through extensions, small plugins that connect the app to novel websites.
- Open Settings → Extensions
- Tap the + button
- Enter a repository URL (you’ll find these shared by the community)
- Tap Fetch. The app loads the available sources
- Tap Install to install the repository
Once installed, each source appears in the Browse tab. Tap a source to explore its novels.
Browsing & Searching
Browse
The Browse tab shows your installed sources as cards. Tap one to see its discover page: featured novels, popular titles, latest updates, and genres.
Search
The Search tab lets you search across all your installed sources at once. Results are grouped by source. Tap a result to see the novel details.
If you’ve been reading something, the Browse tab shows a Continue Reading card at the top. Tap it to jump right back where you left off.
Reading a Novel
Tap any novel to see its detail page: cover, author, description, chapter list. Tap a chapter to start reading.
Reader Modes
The reader supports two modes:
- Paginated (horizontal): Tap the sides of the screen or swipe to turn pages. The page counter shows your position.
- Scroll (vertical): Scroll through the chapter like a web page. The next chapter loads automatically when you reach the bottom.
Switch between modes in Reader Settings (tap the center of the screen to show the chrome, then tap the menu → Theme & Settings).
Reader Controls
Tap the center of the screen to show/hide the controls:
- Top left: Back button
- Top right: Chapter counter (e.g. “3 / 142”)
- Bottom left: Progress bar

- Previous/Next chapter
- Go to chapter (picker)
- Bookmarks

Search in Chapter
Open the menu → Search in Chapter. A search bar appears at the bottom. Type to highlight all matches in the text. Use the arrows to jump between matches. The counter shows your position (e.g. “3/15”).
Bookmarks
Mark your position by opening the menu → Add Bookmark. A small orange indicator appears on the left edge of the page. Open the menu → Bookmarks to see all bookmarks for the current novel, jump to any saved position, or add notes.
Library
Tap the bookmark icon on a novel’s detail page (or in the reader menu) to add it to your Library. The Library tab shows all your saved novels with reading progress.
You can organize novels into folders, sort by title or last read, and switch between thumbnail and list views.
Downloads & Offline Reading
On a novel’s detail page, tap the download icon in the toolbar:
- Download All: Downloads every chapter

Go to Settings → Filters & Ratings to control what content you see:
- Maximum Rating: Choose from Everyone, Teen, Mature, or Adult. Novels above your rating are hidden from Browse, Search, and Discover.
